MOVIE REVIEWS
The Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey

As a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I was very excited for this movie. I walked in the theater, grabbed my popcorn and waited for the movie. As soon as it starts I get a smile, and get even more excited. Then I realized.. that this movie isn't that great. The beginning starts off with the dwarves story, but as it hits the story of Bilbo Baggins(the main protagonist), the plot moves very slowly. It seems as if you are stuck in the same part for hours on end, and it keeps doing that, for every scene. You see about a few dozen cliffhanger scenes (literally), and see about a thousand chase scenes, with some very boring fighting. You never develop feelings for any of the other characters, such as the dwarves. About halfway in the movie, I was considering leaving on how drawn and milked out all of the scenes were. This was probably the most disappointing one yet. If there is one thing I can say that was good about this movie, It would probably just be the special effects. I won't be looking forward to the sequel. I give this movie a 65%. Should you see it? No, unless you are a Lord of the Rings fan, because then you still have some emotion with the movie. That is crying because this movie was so bad.
Life of Pi

Me and my father decided to go see a movie just for the fun of it. We decided to see Life of Pi, but I wasn't really into the decision. I figured it would be pretty lame. This movie isn't lame at all. It is probably one of the most unique and interesting movies yet. It is based off the book by Yann Martel. I don't want to say too much, but by the picture you can probably muster that it is about a boy and a tiger in a boat. Strange right? Him and a few other animals get into a boat after a while, you are at first scared of the tiger in the boat with him, and have no feelings about "Richard Parker" the tiger, and want the survival of the boy "Pi", but you soon find out that they form a bond, and you start to root for them both, and their survival. It's an amazing story, and has very good special effects, if you are into those kind of things. The tiger sometimes looks very real, and I have a hard time telling whether it is special effects or an actual Bengal Tiger. This movie ends with an interesting "twist" in a way, and gets you thinking. My favorite things about movies that I love are twists. I can't get enough of them. I give this movie a 88%. Should you see this? Yes. It might be a little late to see it in some theaters, but you should definitely buy or rent it when it comes out on DvD or Blue Ray. You could even read the book, I don't mind.
The Impossible

It's hard to tell what this movie is about, but it's a tale based on a true story about a tsunami in Asia in 2004. The tsunami harms a nice family, and they get separated. When the tsunami hits the residence they are at, it looks very realistic and is bone-chilling. It is probably one of my favorite scenes of the year. One thing thing they didn't do good with though was the characters. They don't really have any changes throughout the story, and you really don't care for them, when they finally *SPOILER ALERT* get back together, I didn't really care. I knew it was coming, so it just really didn't do anything for me. In the end it just falls as another one of those natural disaster movies that some people have seen. It was OK, but it should just be a rental. I give this movie a 70%. If you were a fan of Twister or some other generic movie about a flood or something, this won't be that bad at all. Naomi Watts did a superb acting job as the mother in the movie though.
A Beautiful Mind

This movie, right here.. is probably one of the best movies of all time. In my eyes at least. Russel Crowe does a good job acting, and it is a very good story. You side with him at first, but an insane plot twist makes you reconsider whether he is sane, or insane. I don't want to say too much because one word of this will spoil the entire movie. All I have to say is, get it. I give this movie a 95%. This movie is older now, so you are going to have to get a DvD or Bluray copy. Get this movie, and have a grand time. There isn't anything else to be said.:
Shawshank Redemption

Shawshank Redemption. Another classic by Stephen King hits the big screen. This is my favorite movie of all time, and you can see this movie in my Top 10 Movies. Go check it out. Tim Robbins and the famous narrator Morgan Freeman are in this movie as great actors. Andy Dufresne(Tim Robbins) gets put in jail for "murdering" his wife, when we all know that isn't true. He soon makes friends in the jail and many events happen in the jail. You look up to Andy because he handles the situations in Shawshank so well. Near the end, you realize the warden is more corrupt than anyone in the jail which is very ironic, so you start to develop a hate for him. Then boom, a twist happens and (insert ending here because I don't want to spoil it) and that is why it is a good movie. This movie is also getting some age, so it is not possible to see in theaters. You will have to get DvD or Bluray, or see it on T.V if you are lucky. I give this movie a 99% out of 100%, because no movie is perfect. This and any other Stephen King movie is recommended, all of them are amazing. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go watch this again.
